MP for Old Tafo Constituency.
The recent killing of the Kusasi Chief in his own home at Asawase, followed by the murder of his brother just a day later is a chilling reflection of the growing insecurity in the Ashanti Region. These incidents are believed to be linked to the long-standing Bawku conflict, which has now spilled over into other parts of the country. What was once a localized crisis has now become a national threat, and the people of Ashanti are paying the price for the government’s failure to contain it.
This is not an isolated issue. Across the country, violent crimes are on the rise, from armed robberies to contract killings, land guard violence, and politically motivated attacks. Ghanaians are gradually losing confidence in the state’s ability to provide security and enforce law and order. The government’s silence in the face of these growing threats is deafening, and its inaction is emboldening criminals and fueling fear among law-abiding citizens.
Ghana is becoming increasingly unsafe under this administration, and if bold steps are not taken now, we risk a nationwide security breakdown. The people deserve safety, justice, and leadership that prioritizes their peace of mind.
